Description
Your future duties and responsibilities:
The role is hands on and is responsible to lead the team and work individually as a liaison among program stakeholders (technical and non-technical) to gather and analyze business requirements, facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews, create functional specifications and process flow diagrams in support of project/program objectives and scope.

Plan Requirements Activities

Manage risks, dependencies, assumptions and constraints for requirements, and communicate to appropriate parties

Support project implementation planning activities

Elicit Requirements

Perform document analysis and prepare the requirements elicitation

Plan, conduct and follow-up on stakeholder interviews

Plan, conduct and follow-up on small to large facilitated requirements workshops

Analyze and Document Requirements

Business Process mapping - for documenting end-to-end business processes

Functional requirements

Use Cases - for documenting system processes

Business Rules - for business decisions, logic, and calculations

Data requirements- for information flow, data definitions, data extraction, transformation and migration

User Interface - such as screens, interfaces and reports

Non Functional requirements

Configuration documentation

Communicate and Manage Requirements

Conduct requirements deliverables review walkthrough and facilitate sign-off with stakeholders.

Communicates with stakeholders of varying technical ability and subject matter expertise

Lead requirements prioritization and scoping discussions with stakeholders

Ensure business requirements are traceable through specifications, solution design and test cases

Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and business needs

Manage requirements changes following the change request process

Resolve conflicts/issues on behalf of requirements team on a project/program and escalate as required

Build and maintain a repository of reusable business process maps and system requirements

Solution Assessment and Validation

Perform gap analysis between solution options and requirements in order to assess and recommend value-add solution options to satisfy business needs

Analyze solution options against business requirements to define the recommended solution that meets the requirements

Ensure requirements traceability from the business requirements to specifications and test cases

Support development and QA activities by providing requirements clarifications as required

Support solution configuration

Support the development of the Test Plan for User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Prepare, coordinate, support and report the UAT execution and support defect triage and resolution

Ensure overall deliverables quality and adherence requirements process

Business Operational Support

Create, conduct and/or support development of end-user documentation and training including: processes, policies, procedures

Help create post implementation solution support procedures and troubleshooting

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Diploma in IT with equivalent IT experience Undergraduate

CBAP or PMI BA certification an asset

CSA certification an asset

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Required Experience

6+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst in the Capital Markets industry

6+ years of experience working in a major transformation initiative i.e. analysis including requirements definition, feasibility studies, cost estimates, proposals, business process mapping, design, development, quality assurance, user acceptance testing and implementation

6+ years of experience working with vendor products configured and integrated in overall solutions and in-house developed solutions

6+ years of experience in Information Technology in all phases of the systems development lifecycle in a Waterfall and Agile methodology

Specialized Skills

Knowledge of Capital Markets industry

Knowledge of the accepted practices of the Business Analysis profession.

Extensive experience in business analysis and requirements definition for IT systems.

Ability to facilitate requirements gathering meetings.

Strong character with integrity and passion, able to interact with customers

Demonstrated ability to design and deliver a business process that meets the expected outcomes within a major transformation initiative

Strong analytical and product management skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret and anticipate internal and external customer needs and translate them into application and operational requirements

A strong attention to detail and the ability to consider how work underway impacts other areas/projects

Demonstrated ability to support multiple projects concurrently, balancing deliverables and ability to prioritize deliverables across projects.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
